Sewing for the polar bears
Double A Stitching is sewing for the polar bears!!! The NC Zoo is in dire need of expansion of its polar bear exhibit. They are working diligently to raise the funds, and are getting really close. We're helping out by volunteering our services to sew up reusable shopping bags to be sold to generate more funds.
Here's a teaser photo of one. All of the bags will be in these pretty cool, retro, funky prints, so each will have their own little flair.

Please read up, donate if you feel so moved, and stop by the NC Zoo Society shops at the NC Zoo this fall to pick up your very own bag with Anelle's name on it. :)

A bit about us...
If you haven't met us yet, Double A Stitching is made up of our small family, JP, Anelle, and little Kieran.
JP has been working in various media for years ranging from delicate Jewelry to combat armor for the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). He has a degree in Multimedia Art and demands functionality out of all his products. His current passion is working with leather and refining his skills.
Anelle has been sewing most of her life with most concentration on Renaissance and costume pieces. She has a passion for elaborate, luxurious, haute couture outfits. If it's not pretty, she's not interested.
Kieran joined our family in February of 2009, and has altered our focus. It's hard to get much done with a 17 month old underfoot, and nearly impossible to get much sewing done.
Our current focus is mainly on steampunk style, leather costume accessories. Each piece is hand crafted, unique, and is inspired by the current grab-bag of materials on hand.
Our future plans are to include a steampunk clothing line to complement the accessories (backwards, much?).
We're also hoping to throw out a few new pieces for Halloween, but you just never know what might show up.
